What I have been doing is calling friends and asking them to talk to me about the trust they put in people on a daily basis.

I’ve asked each person to join me in making explicit these expectations or feelings and to share those with others.

By completing a sentence that starts with “Please…”, “Thank you for…”, or “I’m sorry for….”, each person has offered a bit of the underlying social contract that they find important.
